Competition assignment

A part of Bratislava’s ,,new city centre“ shall be planned with high-class urban spaces and architecture. On more than 120.000m² there will be offices, residences, retail and culture. The 35 ha site is located in the eastern part of the city centre near the river Danube and the city´s medieval part.

The city centre is expanding into its former industrial area, one of the last vacant plots in the city, where most warehouses and industrial buildings have been cleared. Penta Investments will turn 4 ha of this site into a mixed-use project. This will be the 1st phase of the redevelopment initiative.

A disused heating plant in the centre of the site is now a listed building and will be renovated. It will form the future cultural core of the new city centre.
